Testimonial

"We were absolutely delighted with how well Suzanne understood and interpreted the brief we had set to design our prestigious Business Achievement Awards ceremony. The awards were elegant and truly embodied.the theme of achievement. Such an eye-catching design that demonstrated Suzanne's creative flair as well as careful consideration for the audience. We received such a lot of complements from our guests on the night regarding how stunning the awards were, so congratulate her on producing such beautiful, handmade pieces that will be cherished by their recipients. We would certainly commission her again in the future."

For me, clay is the most fundamental and haptic material, wonderfully malleable to sculpt and form. It contains an energy which is transformed through the alchemy of firing, allowing the magic of my ideas to become solid. I enjoy the physical act of making, working with contrasting clay bodies and experimenting with additions to create different effects.

My work can be described as organic abstraction, fragmented and manipulated, referencing ancient Neolithic sites and the energy that they emit. I am inspired by natural forms and the work of artists such as Ewen Henderson who reflects the powerful primordial force of nature, creating a strong sense of physical and visual tension.

I produce sculptural pieces in combinations of clay with lava glazes, fired to create geological surfaces. Some pieces are layered with a combination of clays and locally sourced clay from a forest near where I live. I make work suitable for indoor and outdoor locations.
