Beijing

Day 23 Beijing It’s roasting hot today and heavy air pollution on top so time for the mask. Ventured into the old town today, sadly many of the ancient buildings have gone but a shanty town remains. Found a shop selling my favourite brushes and haggled to get a bargain, so pleased with my lovely brush, I had a jade stamp made with my Chinese name as well. It has a carving of a rat as I’m a rat in the Chinese calendar. The old town has very narrow streets with rather precarious looking electricity cables running overhead. Many street cafes selling Peking duck, didn't see any other tourists around. Spent most of the day exploring the winding alleys.
