China

Wow, day 3 after a rather large Chinese breakfast I headed off to try brush painting for the first time. Working with Cobalt oxide in different strengths on plates and vessels, great fun. Followed by a large lunch of crayfish and soup and a much needed walk about to discover more studios. Wandered into an amazing artists house, nobody speaks English but they invited me in and he showed me his incredible work. His family invited me to have tea and I stayed for a couple of hours with them in a beautiful garden surrounded by giant Bonsai trees. We managed to communicate through WeChat and gestures, such lovely, friendly people. His work is so detailed and the porcelain is incredibly thin and delicate, breathtaking.
