Newgrange

I have been wanting to visit Newgrange for years and was so excited to see the site, the largest Neolithic site in Europe. It is comprised of three large passage tombs and the most impressve was at Knowth with 127 massive kerb stones with beautifully inscribed patterns. I went into both Newgrange and Knowth which are aligned with the Summer and Winter Solstice. The site is still being excavated and new stones being unearthed. It is well maintained and group numbers are limited to preserve the natural beauty of the sites, quite a breathtaking place.
